Hi there!

XenoMorph helped me out over on the PHP-Clan forums earlier today with an installation issue on our new vWar setup and that was sorted Smile

I've now found my way over to this site via his links and wow - I must say it is incredibly impressive. I was taken so much by the infoblock 1.7 that we have now installed that too.

We do, however, have a very small query and that is the Finished Actions are not displaying. Everything else appears to be working fine (it looks superb!).

As XenoMorph may recall, we are currently setting up a new system in parallel, behind the scenes of our existing PostNuke setup as we are transferring over in the new year so the site is incomplete in terms of content and full of test data.

The PHPNuke vers is 7.9 and we have vWar R10 Hi-Wire installed in the same database.

The vWar link for the new site is: http://force10hq.net/HQLive/modules.php?name=vwar
With the PHPNuke home page: http://force10hq.net/HQLive/index.php

The infoblock is located way down on the bottom left at the moment while we sort out moving stuff around (having a nightmare displaying right blocks on some modules in our theme that is being developed).

We have two "Finished Matches" entered and they can be viewed on the "Wars" page in the vWar interface, but it doesn't show on the infoblock.

Bearing in mind we are new to vWar and hopefully we haven't done anything silly on that aspect - I simply "Finished" the two matches, entering the scores etc.

I hope you can assist with this.

PS: We have altered references to "Matches/Actions" to "Manoeuvres" as it is better for our own clan's needs in the block so don't be confused. It's purely terminology.

Wraith.

Hmm, this looks like it can't connect to the database......
Can you insert a nextaction (as a test) to c if they do show uo

Is vwar installed with an $n value? (u can check that with modules/vwar/includes/_config.inc.php )

Hi there!

I entered another action and strangely it won't show that now. It showed all prior tests! This is so weird.

We were so chuffed with it because it went in straight away with no apparent problems apart from the results of finished actions not showing, but this is really strange. We were able to sign up to matches via the infoblock and it was notifying us we needed to sign up to an upcoming match too. It has suddenly stopped. Sad

The %n value is nil.

// With this option you can install more than one VWar.
// Number of VWar (if you update from max. v1.2.2 delete the 1.
// $n = "";
//
// example: (don't use "" if $n is set to a value)
// --------
// $n = 2;
$n = "";

As per default in the config and it wasn't installed with a number value either.

A separate problem I may have to post on the PHP-Clan forums is we have lost some access to admin functions via the PHPNuke admin interface since installation of vWar we have now discovered (Forums for example) just say "Access denied"! Horror!

Anyway... back to this - any more thoughts?

Yes it is Xeno'.

This is what we are going to do in the meanwhile:

We are having theme problems anyway so we are looking at some distruptive work on the site sorting that. We are also rolling back to a point in time where we knew stuff was working prior to vWar going in. We will then try the installation again and re-test.

I will update as a courtesy as I'm sure you are interested to know how it goes as you've clearly worked hard on that infoblock.

Leave it with us for a while and I will come back.

I will be committed elsewhere for a bit too next week so there may be a delay until at least then.

Well, we managed to get a whole load of work done today so I was able to progress this much quicker than I anticipated.

We have a new theme installed and it is all on a completely fresh installation of PHPNuke from scratch again now. It's still running on 7.9 though and hopefully that isn't going to be the issue!

vWar 1.5 R10 Hi-Wire installed successfully and the infoblock 1.7 is in with Next Actions showing properly. The Finished Actions are still not showing though.

I've created a number of matches, some are still outstanding and others are finished.

The vWar installation is in with the PHPNuke database and it has not been given a $n number and also everything is in default folders so nothing has changed out of the ordinary.

Feel free to pop across again and have a look at the block which is now on the right hand side.

if u like u can add me to your MSN, so I we can talk it over and I can test some things.

Xeno' - thanks for taking a look again. I'm not sure what state it was in when you saw it as several restores have occured during development and sometimes during the day the infoblock was empty but I can assure you that when we have had test data in vWar, the finished actions aren't showing.

As mentioned above, I'll be away for a few days this coming week and perhaps if the kind offer is still open, I'll drop you a line so we can chat it over via MSN? That would be very helpful indeed. It may just be something silly but it may also assist you in development of this impressive block you have created so anything to help.

Best regards until my return after the 17th next week.

Wraith.

Xeno' - I'm back! Smile

Right, the update is - it still isn't working Sad

We are actually on an installation of PHPNuke 7.6, security patched with the chatserv mod to 3.1 so it's as stable and secure as we can get it. We found diminishing support for anything above 7.6 due to the wysiwyg editor problems and the security implications of 7.7 and above.

Anyway, I've put vWar back in as above - Virtual War v1.5 R10 Hi-Wire and we have created two test matches. They are just intra-clan events as a test. They display on the next actions then I "Finished" a match to see what happens and it shows in the "Wars" as a completed match but does not show on the infoblock.

I've added you to my MSNMessenger as you have offered and I hope to be able to have the opportunity to speak to you about this soon.

Many thanks.
