Hi,

I've seen before a cheaters block on websites(unfortunately cant remember where) and was wondering if you may now where I can get one. Or even/also the Cheaterlist Module you have here. May I get that somewhere as well?

I would like to have a hall of Shame on our website for the cheats and hacks we catch on our CoD servers.

Your help is very appreciated!

Thanks,

Duck

Just thought I'd let you know I gave up looking and decided to make my own. It's my first real attempt at PHP but it turned out pretty cool. I still have a few things to work out like displaying Demo's inline but I'll figure that out soon I hope. Also I have a few more things to implement in the Admin section where you can currently upload the screenshots and configure results per page etc but I need to implement maximum file sizes and extensions. As well I now realize I may need to add a new table for public reasons as one of my Clan members incharge of enforcing hacks has listed a whole slew of reasons for ban that I don't think the public needs to see. So although I have a reasons banned table I think now a public Category table would be a good addition so when adding a new reason like "violation gamehook #2009" you can put it under the category Gamehook that will be what's showed in my reasons index and a little more public friendly. If you take a look you'll see what I mean lol.

For now it works fairly nicely (except for the demo's). I draw my bannedby list from vwar clan members table but I will change that as well at some point to make it more portable so I can upload the module to PNC for the public to use. When I've modified it some more and before I release it I would like to ask if you would mind looking my scripts over to see if I've done things properly enough and/or give me any advice as it is my first module. Would you mind doing that for me? I woulld appreciate having an experienced coder such as yourself double check it. I would of course include a big thanks in the credits!

Anyway we don't have many entries yet but if you want to have a look here is the link: http://mrc.clanservers.com/modules.php?name=Hall_of_Shame

let me know what you think. There are still a few cosmetics planned.

P.S. BTW clicking the persons name works differently than you have here as it takes you to a Details page for that punk. Clicking the "Yes" under screenshots or demo's opens the screenshot/demo only in a new page. We have no demos yet but my guy uploaded a second screenshot inplace of a Demo for one punk.

Looks really nice. Very Happy I sure could take a look at the code, but it takes some time for me to check. I'm quite busy with the PNC4 package which takes almost all my spare time. Plus my MOBO will be send back to the manufacturer, so I will have to fall back on a backup pc whic his not that fast....
I'm still busy with updating my own cheaterslist, but I simply don't have the time to work on it and make it more advanced. Note that what I release for the public needs support, cuz not everything will work on other webhosts,
Security is the main thing...releasing stuff to the public which is not secure enough could cause many hacking attempts when hackers find flaws in the released code. That's another reason why I don't release modules thateasily when I have made 1. It needs to be tested thoroughly, and as I don't have that much time I just simply don't release them.

Just send me an PM where to get the a copy for me to check out.

Thanks so much Xeno!. Probably be a couple weeks at least till I have the version ready for you to look at. But as you say that is my main concern SECURITY. Being completely noob at this I don't want to compromise security for other people. I am learning what to do mostly by studying other peoples code so I am hoping I've chosen good coders to learn from. But when it is ready I'll let you know. Thanks though!

P.S. Looking forward to PNC 4. I realized after writing this module how tedious and frustrating the debugging can be. How som etimes it can take 2 days to find the missing coma, quotation mark or semicolon! BAH! lol anyway good luck!

Ok Xeno I have finally completed it. I have tested it fairly thourough but of course I may have missed something but for me it is running great! I ironed out all the kinks I could find and I am ready to release it to the public. I even made an install script for it so it should be real easy for people to set up.

I have tested it on my local webserver running phpnuke-platinum and also on my hosted clan server running PNC and both seem to work very well with it.

Now I know you will roll your eyes when you see my sloppy coding but despite that it works smoother than alot of things I've installed before so my gazzillion pages of code and all that bad loll. Of course n the future I will try to be neater and less redundant by placing more things in functions etc but like I said this is my first crack and I found it easier to plod along in this fashion. Anyway when you play around with the final product I think you'll be impressed. It includes config options for drawing your list of names of clan members from an existing table (such as vwar or phpbb or whatever) and even limiting that list to certain status levels (or ranks if you will). Or you have the option of using my built in table to add members to the banned by list.

Anyway I think it is pretty secure. IF you'd like to test it out or look at the code you can download it here:http://mrc.clanservers.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&cid=4

Let me know what you think and feel free to begin using it if you like.

P.S. I wantedt to make it a little prettier by adding some cool graphics but I suck at making graphics. I don't suppose you'd consider letting me use that cool spinning no cheat gif you have here on your site would you?

Take Care,

I gave it a shot, and I must say it's a job well done if it's ur first module ever. I tink it can be a greate module, even better than the 1 I created. klappen
Deviding admin areas in different files is the best way to handle the admin side. As in experience, big files are hard to debug if u have lot's of code and by simply add a new page, debugging is more easy.

If u are interested, we could combine forces and make it a huge module.
Cuz I have some interesting additions which could be added...
BTW, I found a small bug in the module.
When u edit a cheater which did not get an "added By", then there is no way to add 1 eventually....

Thanks for the compliments Xeno,

Sure I would be happy to work together to improve it. I was going to move onto some other modules I wanted for now but if I have someone to partner with I'd definately consider revamping it for a version 2.

What sort of things did you have in mind for it?

Some ideas I had (and that others suggested)

Ability to Add a game and/or Server

Clickable Headings that sort results list by that heading (I so wanted to include this but I am not sure that is easy the way I've coded it)

Possiblilty to have more than 1 type of Demo player

Multiple Screenshots upload per Punk

Ability to delete Screenshots or Demo without replacing with a dummy gif

A randon Screenshot broswer.

And what might be cool (dunno though) A centralized DB for various Clans to share their lists.

What do you think? Do you have some other ideas? Are you sure you'd have time right now? You must be still busy working out the kinks in PNC4.? I am starting on my new (Clan Management Module) which will handle things like Roster, Promotions Demotions, Awards (medals ribbons etc) stuff like that. I am going to be trying to tie it in With vWar and phpbb as much as possible. This one is gonna be huge though. Perhaps we should work together on that and come back to Hall of Shame later? hehe.

Either way I am ready when you are. I can put any project on hold and start with which ever. Let me know

You can add me on MSN if u want, So we can discuss it Smile. I'm at work now, so I can't get on MSN. Some of the ideas u mentioneded I already added in mine, but u can try mine to c what can be added. I think there are lots of features to add, like a way to put watermarks in SS, to hide them from google-image/movie search etc.
We have tried to work together with different clans to provide a central DB, but that just does not work, it will be heavily loaded and costs alot of bandwith...so $$$.
